A Plethora of Limericks for Every Playful Purpose.
Work Place Humor as Limericks
Books and Websites by Jeannette Ramirez
Monday
Dragging yourself to the job
Is the reason why Mondays will rob
You of spirit and drive
Only weekends revive
Skip the weekdays and molt like a blob!
Tuesday
School will be getting out soon
And the kids will be home to cocoon
On the couch for some weeks
Watching sitcoms and freaks
And what's there in the fridge, they'll consume.
Wednesday
Well, it's "hump-day" and if you get through
The rest of this day, it's a coup
With five o-clock near
See the signs of good cheer
On the faces of co-workers, too.
Thursday
As the clock ticks away up to five
And you face that long train trip or drive
With your nerves wearing thin
You get home to begin
Being Mom (or Dad) stuck in gear overdrive.
Friday
It's four o'clock Friday, yippee!
Sixty minutes and you will be free
To cut grass till you faint
Deal with fumes when you paint
Is your life song a little off-key?
Saturday
It is Saturday, just lie in bed
If you must, say you're sick, go ahead!
If you don't you might pop
And that won't help a lot
Smell the roses before they are dead.
Sunday
Sunday's the day to relax
Still, the amenity that it lacks
Since it's backing up to
Nasty Monday, so you
Learn to dread it as "anticlimax."
They say Kathleen writes these lighthearted poems in the wee
hours—let us sidle closer and eavesdrop on the banter!
Is that Edward Lear - the father of limerick poems - in the corner over there? Why yes, it is, in a limerick contest with Kathleen, the barmaid. Kindly visit our Site Map for a complete index including many hard-to-find birthday years, Over the Hill verses, and holidays. You can also view limerick books by author Jeannette Ramirez.
Of course, there's Mother's Day and Father's Day Poems, and a plethora on various professions and workplace humor. Two examples of which are
accounting, and strangely enough, brain surgery.
As promised, with the
addition of the 70th birthday page, Kathleen is coming closer and
closer to that Holy Grail of a limerick for every year between 0 to
100. Here Be Limerick Poems is your source for the
most inclusive birthday greetings for every unique age on the Web.
Visit the
CafePress store at Here Be Limerick Poems or contact
us. to match the verse you want to any of the
products at the store.
There are hundreds and hundreds of verses on these pages. The newest ones are at New Brews. There is even a
new "Happy
Birthday to You" section - naturally, sung to the tune of "Happy Birthday!"
Should you find your visit to the pub enjoyable, my book, Literati Limericks: Academic Arcana in Pithy Quips is now available to purchase here or at Amazon, has thirty-eight full color illustrations, and a mind-stretching pasttime for those moments when you find yourself in a queue and require a chuckle. Literati is described as "encyclopedic" by Marco Graziosi, PhD, Universita' Degli Studi Di Bologna, Italy. Molly is aghast at the amount of time which must be frittered in such lines, and appalled that those interstitial moments are so blithely squandered.
Can we show you to a booth? The pub has more than one hundred fifty "rooms," each with its own
theme,
including: frivolity, sentiment, enlightenment
and even one with candle light for romance. One may hear the din of
hammers and saws after closing hours as building continues.
Here at the
pub, we maintain a family environment, and endeavor to keep our rooms
clean—very nearly antiseptic, in fact—so the
children will not pick up germs or other regrettable attributes.
Perhaps some very funny poems may serve for a wedding toast?
Mayhaps scribbled inside a greeting card? Our Molly is sometimes a
romantic, and invites you to browse our About Us
page to view the book, Keepsake
Book of Love and Marriage
.

Funny Birthday Poems Here be funny birthday poems which may serve as birthday toasts, also called over the hill poems for those with a penchant for gallows humor.
Older Than Dirt Ouch! Kathleen's barbs are a bit pointed tonight. Older than dirt is a bit harsh, is it not? Perhaps we need to expand the pub to accommodate "gallows humour?"
