16th

At sixteen, everyone wants to know
What your plans are one day when you grow
And what goals you have set
Are you sick of it yet?
That won't mean they'll stop asking you, though.

17th

You've pretty well mastered high school
Playing sports, making friends, being "cool."
Now start over again
Cause that gig will soon end,
You're too big for the safe baby pool.

18th

Of course you are going to college
To establish yourself with some knowledge
And your efforts, we say,
Have been good, by the way.
And a thing we would like to acknowledge.

19th

You know every theory extant,
College sophomore, there's little you can't
Expound on with glee
But you don't want to be
A pedantic, absurd, dilettante.

20th

So you're twenty? So sad, that falls short
Of the day that a person can sport
Identification
That reaches the station
To drink without going to court.
