8th Grade Graduation Poems here for someone who is moving on to the bigger and wider world of high school. This is an exciting time, indeed. Exciting, yes, but also perhaps a little fearsome for that special student.
No sooner than you finally get to be the "big enchilada" when you find yourself suddenly once again the "little fish" in a bigger bowl.
Eighth grade was a whole lot of fun
Don't imagine, however, you're done
You have four years to go
Don't get comfortable, though
There are four more beyond those, my son.
Today marks eight years. Education's
Important to all situations.
You've a solid IQ
And guess what? You're not through,
On to high school, for more computations!
My you've grown, and your vocabulary
Is much larger now. It's necessary
To leave your grade school
And we’re all sure that you'll
Love your high school more than secondary.
As you trundle off to junior high
Pre-algebra comes by and by
Ratios and percents
Are your teachers' intents
Aren't you happy you now qualify?
When you entered grade school years ago
You were frightened and scared, parents know.
For you see it was us
Coaxing you on the bus
Where you managed to flourish and grow.
