A friend of mine a while ago told me to "Focus, don't spray" and how wise she was. I have too many projects that I try to service, and it doesn't work well.
Some days, it seems I have elevated multitasking to an art form. So here's my two cents to share with you if you feel similarly.
I have a handful of websites on different themes - all screaming for new content - and 2.05 books (wrote one with some other authors) that are not being marketed. There are two novels-in-the-drawer that might never see the light of day.
I love my website writing and I love being a webmaster. It's great fun!
I don't think I'm alone. Could this be you?
To combat this, I resigned from some volunteer teaching, from a board, and from a marketing committee. I cannot resign from keeping the house running and occasional grandparenting duties (people trump stuff).
What are you going to resign from? Ask yourself:
Has this activity made me happy? If no, consider dumping it. Sometimes the things that make you happy are worth the lack of reward.
Has this activity made me money within a reasonable time span? If no, definitely dump it.
Sometimes, the answer lies with your personal growth. Do you know some things now that you didn't know (fill in the number of months) months ago?
