You're eleven, and what will you get?
Your first MP3, and I'll bet
Your next shoes will have heels
That your new dream is "wheels"
But don't drive off too fast, my pet.
You're twelve and you need a cell phone
So your parents will know where you roam?
And is that where it ends
Or perhaps to call friends
So you won't be a minute, alone?
During this year you have changed

That the child you once were is exchanged.
You're fourteen, and we know you are wise
There's a worldliness you can't disguise
"Mom and Dad have no 'clue'"
Might occur now to you
But just don't give up yet on those guys.
