Not limericks, but what the hey?
Life
1
My therapist could not take time
To do her homework, so,
As pleasantly as I could say,
I told her where to go.
2
A website client balked to pay
For half an hour's action
The hours that it took me sting --
I'd only billed a fraction
3
My husband's disappointed that
A writer's income stinks
And i'm not working smart enough
At least, that what he thinks.
4
I couldn't sleep at all last night
My shoulder's giving fits
This body won't cooperate
And coddling it's the pits
5
The family gets together
Mostly when we do the spread
I wonder who will be in charge
When both of us are dead?
6
My house is utter chaos
But priorities suggest
My writing is the higher goal --
Of which I keep abreast.
7
My helper didn't show up and that
Failure's nothing new
She has domestic problems that
Have limited her, too
8
I'm at a nadir in my life
Though Edison might say
Hang on, because tomorrow might
Reveal the dawn of day.
