From time to time here at Molly's Pub, parents ask for a kid party invitation as short funny rhyming poems. Limerick poetry is just the ticket. One of these verses addresses pool parties, another, movies, and the rest are just your basic tear-around-the-house-with-sugar-overload that loving parents endure for the sake of their small fry. Bless you. Molly remembers and is glad it is you and not her.
How would you like to eat a sweet cake?
And just think of the noise we could make
As you all sing off-key
Happy Birthday to me!
Come for all of the fun you can take.
Please join me and we'll celebrate
The day I was born. Set the date.
I've been waiting all year
And it's finally here
This party is sure to be great!
My mother has wrapped presents up
And made tiny cakes in a cup
And we'll giggle and run
And we'll have so much fun
That we'll tire out every grown-up.
It seems like there's always a rule
To be broken at home or in school
But on birthdays they see
Just how wild we can be
As we swim, splash and dive in the pool.
I'm told that there could be a clown
Or a trip to a movie downtown
And some presents for me
That I can't wait to see
And no grown-up will tell us "Sit down!"
On my birthday last year, what I gotThis page is "Kid Party Invitation," but here is child rearing humor...
Was money and clothes. Not a lot
Of stuff that was fun
But not this year! I've won!
And I can't wait to see what they bought!
