Molly's cat, Misty, died some time ago at age nineteen (yes, she was a Methuselah cat) but echoes of her personality still abide. She would come to sit on the keyboard while Molly was yet using it, as if to say, "You have had enough of sit work today, get up and move." She was not an aloof cat, as is sometimes attributed to felines, cats are merely dignified and proper. From time to time, she brought offerings for the table, to the front door, her earnest green eyes no doubt puzzled that they were not served up immediately.

The pain that you feel
We know that it's real
For a pet's love can never pretend.
But let us not dwell on the painful. Living with a cat is fun - er, at least, interesting.
