Looking for a Memorial Day Poem Picnic Invitation or Memorial Day graphics to send to friends and family?
The poppy has been a symbol of Memorial Day ever since the poem "In Flanders Fields" written Lieutenant Colonel John McCrae, MD of the Canadian Army in 1915.
Over time, Memorial Day has become a time for family. Barbecues and picnics celebrate the joy of living in a free land, one bought for us by those who served in the Armed Forces. Though these limericks are humorous invitation wording, here at Here-Be-Limerick-Poems we do not at all think Memorial Day is anything to be laughed at.
On this Memorial Day, I will think of my Dad, who served in France and South Africa during WW2. Those we love will be with us in spirit on this holiday.
Memorial Day Poem
It's always exciting and trendy
To go to the races at Indy
But we cannot get there
So we hope you will bear
With a party that's simple and friendly.
Memorial, like Labor Day
(They're called "bookend" events by the way)
We're inviting our friends
As the summer begins
To come here the last weekend in May.
The first day of summer is near
And we're planning a shindig right here
Here's the time and the date
So come help celebrate
With the people you love and hold dear.
Limerick Invitation You know the last weekend in May
So this holiday
We'll eat burgers and pie
So why don't you come by
And catch up on what folks have to say?
Custom says that Memorial Day
Is the time for our family to play
And grill burgers and dogs
Pigging out like some hogs
And catch up on what folks have to say.
Since Memorial Day's coming near
We want to invite you all here.
Grab a burger and bun
Cause we're planning some fun
And please don't forget to bring beer.
Having fun is our modus vivendi
And a picnic is not really trendy
Join us here for some play
On Memorial Day
If you couldn't get tickets to Indy.
The very last Monday of May
Designated "Memorial Day"
Grab your Frisbee and mitt
Cause you have to admit
That you LOVE all this picnic horseplay.
