Once upon a time, there were no tweets, no Internet. Life was simpler back in the day. Better or worse, it's your call.
This page introduces the twitpoem - and it's fun as well as challenging. Given only 140 characters, write a four line quatrain. Don't forget to "twitshrink" the poem you made before sending that tweet. The spelling with resemble a text message. Try one yourself. I often do twitpoems on twitter, and invite you to follow me there by clicking on the twitter badge at the top right of your screen.
I spend the whole day clicking
From one screen to another.
This Internet addiction
Was unknown by my grandmother.
What would Grandma say
If she knew that I, today,
Would spend so many hours
On the Internet all day?
I should be sewing seams
Or assisting with the crops
Instead, I'm posting twitters
And conducting web workshops.
My Grandma had a diner
On an Oklahoma plain
Perhaps I'm more progressive
Or, perhaps, I'm more insane.
My Grandpa was an engineer
Upon the railroad lines
It's strange how much our lives have changed
To keep up with the times.
