Rocket Scientist
and Brain Surgeon Humor

Challenge: Rocket Scientist Humor

One must dredge deeply to find a scrap of job humor, or, if you please, work humour, in such themes, yet the jaundiced eye is quite up to the attempt.

In her family, Molly counts one of each, yet sadly, cannot lay claim to their sterling collateral genes. Lost amidst the assortment of doctorates at family celebrations, she alone is serving up brews in the pub where they all congregate to rest from their weighty labors. Ah, perhaps had she applied herself a bit more diligently to the regrettable organic chemistry? Can anyone here flip a benzene ring?

Icons

Professions which both are icon
For brains that have muscle and brawn
Two get a mention
For public attention
It's brain work and rockets, odds-on.

Rocket scientist, brain surgeon, how did they wander in here?

Challenge: Job Humor

Are We Having Fun Yet?

The stress factor can be severe
Mission Central's a place filled with fear
Doing work on the fly
You might wonder why
Anyone would, on purpose, work here?

Geosynchronous Orbit

They say geosynchronous orbit
Has so much junk space can't absorb it.
Such prime real estate
Causes heated debate:
Blow up the spent probe or resorb it?

Escape Velocity

"Escape speed or velocity"
Is to say where this rocket should be
When "pull" equals "push"
And the rocket can swoosh
Into realms where there's no gravity.

Budget Woes

They're not working on nuclear fission
They'd rather have time on the mission
Yet their energies funnel
To cheaper wind tunnel
Experiments, to their derision.

Challenge: Work Humour

All Ye Who Enter Here, Integrate Functions!

If, as a small child you aspired
To visit worlds never transpired,
You should be aware
Rocket jobs have a snare--
A great deal of math is required.

Challenge: Brain Surgery

My, this tap seems to be empty. Brain surgery, as we all know, is a very delicate topic, and Kathleen is slow in serving it up. How exasperating! I wonder if anyone else, someone with her wits more about her, seeks a barmaid position in the unemployment queue?
