One can't understand as outsiders,
But webmasters really love spiders.
Offer keywords to eat:
High demand, no deceit.
And remember, be content providers.

A "spider" is a search engine web robot that scours every page of the Internet looking to index keywords. Busy little guys, aren't they? Puzzled by the reference to SBI, but intrigued, Kathleen determined to investigate their Web site thoroughly after her shift was completed, for a barmaid’s life is hard on the feet.

Being new to this game of Webmaster
And keywords that spell site disaster
And my vague grasp as well
Of HTML
Can flatten a poor poetaster.

Well, Edward took umbrage with the word “poetaster,” insisting that it was not a legitimate one, and, in any case, surely the pronunciation rendered it ineligible as a rhyme for the words “webmaster” and “disaster,” suggesting that it fit more precisely with “waster.”

Kathleen became quite exasperated, pointing out that dictionary websites will even sound the word out, and are a fine resource for those who aspire to accuracy in their writing.

Of course, there ensued the usual bickering between them, until Ian, seeking to restore peace, actually troubled himself to look the word up on the Internet. Finding it there, together with its pronunciation, the matter was ended. Edward, the beneficiary of a fine Oxbridge education, promptly changed the subject out of embarassment.

It is said that a Web site's interior
Offers content “on mark” and superior.
That sticks with its theme.
That niche is the cream
Of the crop to the web-surfing querier.

So what's a keyword?

Simple.

It's what you typed in to get here.

I reached thirty pages today
The labor just blew me away
But I've no consternation
I'm off for vacation!
And my site's on the superhighway.
